My first film project involved co-producing a short documentary about La Perla, the last Tejano cantina on 6th Street in Austin, Texas. The project lasted from 2016-2019 and provided a peek into the culture, traditions and characters of this East Austin institution. We received media coverage online, in print and on KOOP radio, and screened the film at six festivals around the state. The project won Best Doc Short at the 2019 Rockport Film Fest and the Texas Vision Award at the 2020 STUFF in Corpus Christi.
